Fruit of the Spirit
Discover the great things the Holy Spirit is growing within you! Join us this summer for a weekly devotional where you will learn all about the Fruit of the Spirit. You will learn to let the Great Farmer, the Holy Spirit, tend the soil of your heart and grow these fruits within you. Join our Thirst Kids group on Facebook to follow along and participate to win prizes! the devotional will be posted on social media every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and we would like YOU to show us how you are interacting with the devotional each week. Each Wednesday we will post an activity to correlate with that week’s Fruit of the Spirit and we’d love to see your child in action! Please post on our Thirst Kids facebook page or email Kristen at kristen@thirstwi.com. At the end of each week, Kristen will pick a name from all of the posts made by YOU and will award one winner a fun fruit-themed prize which will be at the Fruit of the Spirit Market in the Thirst Kids Lobby each Sunday!

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, help me to be more like you this summer. Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Help me to focus on the Fruit of the Spirit and live them out for you each day. Amen.

Activity: Make a card or pick flowers for someone you love; a friend, a neighbor or family member. Take that card/flowers and deliver it to them.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for sharing the ultimate gift of love with us; your Son. Please help me to be loving to all of those around me. Amen.
Shout for joy to God, all the earth!
Psalm 66:1
Activity: Use musical instruments or supplies from your kitchen and create a “JOYFUL” noise. March around your house together shouting for JOY!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to remember that I need to have joy in all situations. Help me to focus on joy and sharing that with those around me because I know you. Amen.

Numbers 6:26
Activity: Go out in nature; on a hike or a walk around your neighborhood. Experience the peace of being together and listening to the sounds of the outdoors.
Prayer: Lord, when I am anxious or worried, please give me peace. Remind me to take time to pray and slow down to hear your voice. Amen.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him
Psalm 37:7a
Activity: Plan a relay race for your family that involves doing things that you have to be careful doing; egg and spoon race (need to move slowly to keep the egg on the spoon), card/cup stacking; dominoes, etc.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for giving us the gift of patience. Thank you that there is always something we can learn in the waiting. Remind us not to rush everything, but to enjoy the wonderful things you’ve given to us. Amen.
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32
Activity: Go out as a family and share kindness; demonstrate holding the door for someone, helping someone pick up toys, taking someone’s grocery cart for them when they are done shopping, cleaning up around a park, etc.
Prayer: Lord, you showed us how to be kind to everyone. Please help us to show others kindness so that they may feel your love. Amen.
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
Romans 12:9
Activity: Sit down together as a family this week and list the ‘good’ things that have happened or that you may have noticed. (ie. the family was able to get out of the house on time; enjoyed a bike ride together, heard the birds chirping, etc.)
Prayer: Father, sometimes it’s hard to focus on the good things. Help us to notice all of the wonderful blessings you have given us. We love you and are so thankful for you. You are good, God. Amen.
Even a child is known by his actions, whether his conduct is pure and right.

For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
Activity: Paint rocks with reminders of Jesus on them. Place them around your neighborhood.
Prayer: Lord, please help me to have self-control. Remind me that things are not always in my control, but that you, Lord, have everything under control. Remind me to take a deep breath, pray and focus my energy on you and what you would want me to do. Amen.
