Time Status: Part Time (20-25 hours per week)
Summary and Purpose:
The Thirst Sound and Tech team lead will be responsible for development and implementation of audio, video, and live streaming projects related to all Thirst services and special events. The Thirst Technical Manager is responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing and troubleshooting audio and video equipment. Also, works collaboratively with the Worship Director and Communications Director to produce the best possible atmosphere for worship through sound reinforcement. This includes but is not limited to: creating an audio mix that meets the mood the pastor/worship leader wants to convey, supporting the audio needs of the people involved with the church service and elevating the online audio and visual experience. Ultimately, glorify God through providing excellent audio and technical services. Besides our in person A/V needs Thirst regularly live streams and records events and messages for our online audience. Knowledge of online mixing, streaming and recording is important.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Lead and/or coordinate all aspects of technology for Sunday services, weekly events/meetings at Thirst church, special events, and recordings for the Lead Pastor.
* Load and update ProPresenter 7 for all weekend and special services.
* Manage ProPresenter content to be relevant for each week’s worship services.
Schedule volunteers for needed positions including midweek rehearsals, prayer and worship nights, outdoor services, and other special events.
Research and recommend required supplies and/or new gear required to improve weekend worship services and online streaming.
Must participate in education and training to improve skills related to video and audio technology for continuous improvement.
Work with the Worship Leader to set up the stage for musicians scheduled for that week
Perform line checks for midweek and pre-service rehearsals
Train and develop other leaders and/or techs within the Sound/Tech Ministry
* Record video and mix audio for services being posted to social media and the Thirst website.
Help to create a distraction-free church experience as it relates to audio and video production.
*Record and mix audio for all midweek rehearsals.
Check, replace batteries in, and distribute wireless microphones and other equipment as needed to equip band members, speakers, etc.

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), some college experience preferred or between 2-3 years of experience.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer and Technology Skills:
Must have some knowledge of video editing, ProPresenter software, digital and analog mixing consoles, and audio effects (ie; reverb, delay, compression, EQ, ect.).
A heart for worshiping God
Must obtain a view of the Sound/Tech Department as a Ministry intended for demonstrating and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and glorifying God.
Be in good standings with the church.
Able to work in a team setting and take direction.
Must be able to open to feedback for continuous improvement.
Either has experience mixing audio successfully in the live environment OR are willing to attend training and work alongside a mentor.
Must have exceptional communication skills.
Must be available for some daytime/evening hours and be on-call for communication between team members and other church staff.
Ability to think quickly and react/troubleshoot in high stress situations.
Willingness to attend training sessions and read/watch other training material for improving existing skills.
